Become an Outcoder as a Site Reliability Engineer SRE
Success in the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role requires technical expertise in a similar position. The SRE will collaborate closely with the infrastructure team, DBAs, DevOps, and TechOps to ensure system reliability and performance. Key responsibilities include monitoring and supporting Azure cloud and on-premises environments, reacting promptly to incidents, and continuously improving the company’s monitoring functions. Tools used to monitor infrastructure health and performance include Zabbix, Site 24×7, Azure Monitor, Grafana, and Prometheus. The SRE will generate SLA reports to ensure compliance with service-level agreements and provide infrastructure optimization to enhance stability and performance. Collaboration with the infrastructure, DBAs, DevOps, and TechOps teams is essential to improve system reliability.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- 3+ years of experience in a related position.
- 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Azure platform and services is a plus.
- Experience in performance troubleshooting to identify and resolve system bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Experience with various cloud components such as AKS, Azure Front Door, Application Gateway, NSG, Azure Firewall, Service Bus, and VPN Gateway.
- Deep understanding of server operating systems, including Windows 2022 and Linux.
- Proficiency in using monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Azure Monitor, Site 24×7, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with query languages like Kusto Query Language (KQL) and automation tools like Logic Apps.
- Experience with MS SQL and Azure SQL.
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible, DSC, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to react quickly and effectively to incidents.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
