Location/Division Specific Information:
The Product Support Department is part of the Microbiology Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific and is based in East Grinstead.
Discover Impactful Work:
The Product Support Technician will have day to day responsibility for organising, planning and Sensititre performing testing, reviewing test data and producing reports for Shelf-life Stability trials and internal & external investigations. In addition, supporting the Sensititre Brief Reference/Format design (Custom Plate Design). As well as contributing to the safe and effective functioning of the Microbiology laboratory which includes maintenance of an existing bacterial culture collection and general lab duties.
A day in the Life:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of the position as defined in the Health, Safety and Environmental policies and associated Codes of Practice. To help maintain the Microbiology laboratory in a safe, tidy and efficient condition and to ensure safe working practices are maintained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure and Good Lab Practices.
- To perform the following in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company requirements.
- Testing of IVD/Vet/Research use only medical device products by a variety of laboratory techniques, including MIC testing and radial diffucion bioassay. and delegate work for the Product Support Technicians and Lab Assistant.
- To review test data and produce reports for regulatory, internal or customer use.
- Ensure accurate records are kept and tasks performed in keeping with GLP.
- To alert Senior Technicians, Technical Lead or Product Support Manager of potential deviations to protocol, and assist with root cause counter measure activities.
- Involvement in the Brief Reference/Custom Plate Design process.
Keys to Success: Education
- Degree in scientific subject (Microbiology or other related)
or
- Laboratory experience (Microbiology or Similar)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Effective organisational and planning ability.
- Solid practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
