Bioinformatics Software Engineer II- Remote, USA Ambry Genetics is seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Software Engineer to work closely with our biologists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers to develop and maintain bioinformatics and clinical information applications that can run on-premises as well as the cloud. This role ensures the seamless support and transition of various applications to AWS, integrating it with the new variant data stores. The Bioinformatics Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering software solutions to support the analysis of clinical samples. Essential Functions Support the maintenance and testing of existing applications AWS cloud support Provide troubleshooting and update of existing applications Develop and test new features and tools of applications Create training material and provide training plans to educate other team members Other duties as assigned Qualifications PhD degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline plus at least 2 years of industrial experience MS degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline plus at least 2 years of industrial experience BA or BS degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline plus at least 2 years of industrial experience Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming concepts using an MVC web framework Ability to hand-code HTML, layered and responsive CSS, and React/Typescript, and PHP Develop and evolve wire-frames and example designs to continuously changing requirements Relational database experience (example: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) Understand the consumption and production of web services (example: REST, SOAP, AMQP) 3+ years related software development for online applications or equivalent experiences Solid experience with AWS services such as S3 and EC2 Ability to create docker containers that can run locally and, on the cloud, Design, build, and deploy technical cloud solutions using CI/CD Preferred Full stack development experience preferred Experience with using the Symfony framework preferred About Us: Ambry Genetics Corporation is a CAP-accredited and CLIA-licensed molecular genetics laboratory based in Aliso Viejo, California.
