The Opportunity OHO is looking for an experienced strategist and manager to lead our Digital and Content Strategy practice within our Web Solutions business line. You’ll take charge of delivering large-scale web projects with an average timeline of 12-15 months. Digital Strategists at OHO are responsible for understanding the marketing goals of clients and leveraging their expertise to develop comprehensive digital web strategies aimed at meeting these objectives. The ideal candidate thrives on collaborating with clients to shape innovative solutions and possesses the ability to guide cross-functional teams in executing these strategies. This role serves as a motivator and catalyst for collaboration between clients and delivery teams of Research, UX/IA, Visual Design, Development and Project Management, fostering a positive and productive working relationship. In this leadership position, you’ll wear multiple hats: owning your strategy discipline, managing your team, and delivering exceptional client work. You’ll be an integral part of the Web Solutions leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Web Services. Evolve the Digital Strategy & Content Strategy Process – 25% Leverage your experience in digital and content strategy to define and enhance processes, tools, and deliverables that meet OHO’s goals for client satisfaction and efficiency. Evaluate and optimize the role of the Digital Web Strategist throughout a project’s lifecycle. Manage a Team – 25% Lead a growing team of two Digital Web Strategists and one Content Strategist. Inspire and motivate the team to execute on a long-term vision for the Strategy discipline. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to a team of digital and content strategists, fostering their professional growth and development. Deliver Web Digital Strategies for Clients – 50% Most of your time will be spent on billable client work, driving goal-oriented, user-focused strategy engagements and shaping content strategy for website projects. Job Responsibilities Set discipline standards, provide resources, and shape the digital strategy approach Define and enhance process, deliverables and tools for the digital strategy and content strategy disciplines resulting in a clear strategy that can be executed within budget, that meets client objectives, and results in satisfied clients Assign strategists to new projects with a focus on aligning project scopes to team member skills and experience Product owner for the Web Solutions “OHO Foundations” product Escalation point and consultant for project vision conversations. When applicable, partner with an assigned Account Strategist to support clients Lead and oversee the development and delivery of content strategy deliverables for assigned clients, which may include website content strategies, messaging architecture, content audits, content templates, style guides, editorial workshops, and governance recommendations. This includes providing oversight, feedback, and guidance to team members on their contributions, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client needs and OHO standards. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance and recommendations on how to achieve their marketing objectives through effective website strategies. Lead discovery sessions (stakeholder interviews, focus groups, workshops, etc.) to capture both client and user needs, as well as identify both opportunities and risks for OHO Develop and present strategy roadmap to client, reflecting creative problem-solving and holistic, sustainable approaches conceived with input from relevant team members, including information architects/UX designers, content strategists, and developers Ensure all project phases and deliverables (e.g. user research, sitemap, wireframes) align to defined project strategy. Oversee work completed by contractors as needed, such as copywriting Contribute to company sales and marketing efforts as needed (e.g. writing posts for company blog, helping create sales proposals, talking to prospective clients) Measured on Team health/employee engagement for direct reports Client satisfaction for all digital strategy and content strategy deliverables Feedback from co-workers Award-winning solutions On-time delivery Strategy department utilization Outcomes A team that is excited and proud of their work Clients are aligned and engaged with the strategy and have a clear understanding of the direction The OHO project team understands the strategic direction and project risks Through the discovery phase, you’ve identified the most effective use of the client’s budget to meet the project’s goals and requirements. Work is delivered on-time so that projects proceed on schedule Effective use of contractors when necessary Improved deliverables that the team is proud of and that receive positive client feedback Experience A minimum of 5 years of people management experience and 10 years in a role delivering digital strategy, content strategy and UX solutions for complex organizations. Experience managing a team in an agency setting Higher ed experience a plus but not required Talent in building and managing relationships Strong oral communication and presentation skills Comfortable advocating for and dialoguing with clients about recommended approaches Ability to facilitate client and internal workshops and group sessions Ability to produce a catalog of relevant, current solutions for client needs by maintaining a general understanding of all things digital Thrives when working and collaborating in a cross-disciplinary environment Big picture thinker who is also capable of laying out clear, detailed tactics Experience with content-intensive websites with multiple layers of stakeholders Experience with measurement/analytics and SEO, both in regard to setting project strategy and ongoing post-launch maintenance Experience with other digital marketing approaches a plus Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Employee Benefits Benefits include 401(k) and match, starting three weeks of vacation, sick time, ten holidays, Summer Fridays, and more!
