Tomorrow’s Warriors is looking for an experienced freelance Finance Manager to join its small but dynamic and creative team and lead on all aspects of financial management from budgeting, accounting and compliance, financial management of grants.
This is a freelance contract for 1 day/week plus additional time around quarter/year ends (on average 6 days/month).
Responsibilities
You will lead on all aspects of financial management from budgeting, accounting and compliance, financial management of grants to supporting the CEO, SMT and Board of Trustees with financial planning and decision making, including:
- Reconciliation of balance sheet and Profit & Loss accounts
- Manage accruals and prepayments.
- Produce timely, detailed, and accurate quarterly financial reports and cashflow forecasts.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to produce the annual budget.
- Assist with the financial aspects of funding applications and monitoring reports.
- Manage audit compliance and the year-end audit process.
- Complete statutory returns to Charities Commission and Companies House.
- Manage Trustee governance at Charities Commission and Companies House.
- Line-manage a part-time bookkeeper.
Qualification and Experience
- Part or fully qualified.
- At least 2 years’ experience within a management accounting role.
- Experience of charity financial and management accounting
- Experience managing fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, intercompany accounts and overseeing debtor management.
- Experienced using Sage 50 Accounts software.
- Experience of managing different donation platforms including CAF and Paypal.
- Experience of processing Gift Aid Claims
- Relevant knowledge of SORPs related to charity work.
- An understanding of Governance and working with the structure of a charity and its board of trustees.
- Have line management experience.
