About this role:

RingCentral’s Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the backend infrastructure on which we deliver our cloud-based unified communications services to customers all over the world. RingCentral Cloud Operations is engineered for 99.999% uptime with domestic and international geo-redundant data centers.

As a RingCentral Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting the x86 virtualization environment including the underlying servers and storage systems at RingCentral, with a focus on developing Ansible-based automation tools. This role can be 100% remote in the USA, or a hybrid employee based at one of our main offices in Belmont CA, Denver CO or Dallas TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks for deployment and ongoing management of physical servers, storage systems, vm’s, and other infrastructure
  • Create and manage tools for automation; including REST API integration script development
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated deployment systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced level of proficiency with VMware (6.x – 8) and vSphere in a large environment
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux)
  • Solid configuration management & automation experience using Ansible
  • Competent in scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Experience with Git or other SCM systems
  • 7-10+ years in IT, 4+ specifically related to x86 virtualization
  • Results oriented and excellent debugging skills
  • To comply with U.S. federal government requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with deploying and maintaining a FedRAMP compliant environment
  • Familiarity with vRealize Suite (Orchestrator, Operations Manager, Automation)
  • Familiarity with Puppet & Foreman
  • Experience with Netapp and EMC storage systems
  • Experience integrating with public cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure)
  • Experience in implementing and managing bare metal lifecycle management systems

RingCentral is headquartered in Belmont, California, and has offices around the world. If you are hired in Belmont, the base salary for this position is between $140,000 and $170,000 for full-time employees, in addition to eligibility for variable pay, equity, and benefits. If you are hired in Colorado, the base salary for this position is between $120,000 and $145,000.
