Adtran is looking for an outstanding Senior Software Engineer to work on its Ensemble Network Controller Web UI . This is a set of applications used by network operators to manage their networks built upon Optical Transport, Packet Edge, Fiber Monitoring and Timing and Synchronization devices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and continually improving our product using new technologies and best agile practices, and will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure the product meets the needs of our customers.
The Senior Software Engineer will be a member of a full-stack team responsible for designing, analyzing requirements, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software solutions for Adtran products including but not limited to the following: application development, system software architecture, software test development and customer assistance. Requires ability to perform engineering tasks for a major project or for projects of moderate complexity with limited direction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design or assist in design and development of the Ensemble Network Controller product.
- Perform high-level software design and implementation of new services and modules.
- Deliver an enhancement to existing software.
- Perform or assist in feasibility studies of needed software development.
- Document the design including features definition and architecture.
- Conduct and participate in design reviews and code reviews.
- Plan and perform unit and system level testing of implemented software modules and enhancements.
- Fix software bugs found during all testing phases.
- Work with the team to deploy and test incremental software releases.
- Organize and coordinate development activities within schedule and product constraints.
- Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.
- Guide and develop less experienced engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education required.
- At least 9 years of active experience as Front End of Full-stack developer.
- Experience with software design, implementation and debugging including inter-process communication and multi-threading techniques is required.
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering.
- Experience in GUI design using Storybook, Figma or other equivalent tools.
- At least 5 years of experience with developing React based applications.
- Experience with JavaScript and Node.JS .
- Experience with at React test frameworks (JEST or similar).
- Experience in developing containerized applications (Docker or equivalent).
- Excellent teamwork abilities.
- At least B1 English proficiency level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing and deploying large scale interactive React based applications.
- Experience with wireframing GUI designs (e.g., Figma, Storybook).
- Experience with testing tools such as Jest, Protractor, Cypress, Jasmine, Selenium.
- Experience with Contract Test frameworks (i.e. Pact).
- Professional experience in working with Kubernetes based systems.
- Ability to design and develop CI/CD flows for product.
- Strong focus on assuring code quality and solution robustness.
