The independent financial advisory industry is an $80T Market in the US with little technological innovation comparted to the self-service market (Robinood, Betterment, Wealthfront, SoFi). For Example: it often takes financial advisors three days to open client accounts and requires antiquated processes like faxing paper work. Crazy! We are building critical software infrastructure for financial advisors allowing them to spend less time on manual repetitive tasks and more time with their clients. We partner with financial advisory firms to help them rapidly scale their business while giving their clients better outcomes. We are looking for an experienced backend engineer who can lead the development of our early product. You will build the engineering culture from the ground up! You will take end-to-end ownership over the systems that you build, and heavily influence the product roadmap and architecture at a staff level role. What You Will Be Doing – Lead the launch and scaling of our product across the core B2B product, integrations/external API, and platform
- Collaborate with our tight team to set the technical vision and product roadmap
- Make key decisions about technical stack and architecture
- Ensure that backend systems and services operate smoothly in production by triaging and resolving operational issues
- Help hire and mentor other engineers
What You Need for this Position Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or related
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- Experience with Golang, Redis, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS SQS, Step Functions, S3, & Lambda
- Strong track record of shipping high-quality systems with high complexity and scale
- Experience building high quality, delightful user-facing web applications
- Experience working closely with a cross-functional product team
- Desire to work in an early stage, fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity
- Excited to primarily be an individual contributor with a ton of ownership
Preferred:
- Fintech industry knowledge and experience
- Experience building with leading fintech APIs (Plaid, Stripe, etc)
- Experience building APIs-as-a-product and/or B2B products
- Experience at seed/early-stage startups
- Previously started a company and/or launched personal projects
