Job Description Seeking a creative and high energy compliance minded attorney with expertise in privacy that is interested in working at the nexus of law, business, technology, data, and consumers. Our team within the Allstate Law and Regulation department is growing to enable our business to thrive in the face of an ever-evolving regulatory environment and emerging technology. This attorney will provide real time and critical business-focused counsel for a broad range of businesses, emerging technologies and compliance issues, with a particular focus on privacy issues. This attorney needs strong business acumen and will support matters across the enterprise relating to artificial intelligence, technology, transactions, cybersecurity, commercial, risk management and data management. . Core competencies:
- Understanding of GLBA, FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, TCPA and similar laws with capability to conduct complex research and determine applicable and pertinent laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and other legal authority
- Understanding of emerging legal requirements relating to A.I.
- Provide proactive counseling to address risks and creative problem solving skills in a dynamic business environment
- Conduct risk-return analyses on key issues, looking at issues from a holistic perspective, recognizing overall impact to the enterprise; make strategic recommendations based on risk analyses
- Advise business partners on emerging business issues, legal subjects and risk management
Monitor and review complex new laws, regulations, and case law; identify and summarize relevant issues
- Play a key role on complex projects, collaborating between legal teams within Law & Regulation and with business clients, as appropriate
- Understand interaction in regulated environments between business, policy, compliance, legislative and legal frameworks
- Assist in building a culture of constructive debate and conversations with a virtual team multiple across locations
