Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Software Configuration Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team is responsible for developing autonomous software for their robotic combat vehicles. This individual will be developing/maturing high level product requirements, leading architecture changes for autonomous software, and running tests for ground robotic combat vehicles. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance! Responsibilities Include:
- Working in a pivotal role alongside System Architects of the autonomous software library, influencing design decisions to ensure software architecture that meets all of the safety, security, performance, and optimization goals.
- Technical decision-making involving selecting appropriate technologies to ensure scalability, maintainability, and efficient deployment of the autonomous software stack on different platform instantiations.
- Acting as a lead for coordinating/documenting software releases
- Managing software configuration and working closely with our CI/CD team to ensure on-time software releases.
- Ensuring workspace is prepped for test events so team can pull/test/deploy different configurations
- Looking at existing code bases and identifying ways to make it more efficient
- Leading documentation of releases
- Code development 50% of the time
- Other 50% of time is release coordination/code optimization/coordinating software tasks with teams
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related engineering field
- 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s of Science degree OR 3 years with a Master’s degree or higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety, or closely related technical discipline
- Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming/object oriented design
- Linux experience
- Experience working with large code bases expanding across tens of repositories
- Experience with Jenkins or Docker or similar tool
- Experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
- Familiar with Git
- Experience working in robotics or autonomous systems
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines/deployment processes
- Strong collaborative, communication, and leadership skills * Experience working with ROS (robotic operating system)
- Bash scripting experience
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience null
