SUMMARY:
Systems Infrastructure/Controls Engineers research, design, and own the development of equipment used to control systems, processes, and machinery and collect performance data for information analysis. They provide technical support for special processes and operations for current production product and for new product and process development. This role interacts with a large cross section of the Thermo Fisher Employee base inclusive of hourly line workers, team leads, shift supervisors, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, design engineers, maintenance and site leadership.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

· Develop new control and monitoring systems. And extend start-up support and training for team members of those systems.

· Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to eliminate control systems issues and handle systems infrastructure projects. 

· Build and implement communication systems for manufacturing. 

· Conduct pre-start up equipment walks to validate installation. I

· Handle facilities equipment start up safely. 

· Collaborate with equipment vendors and contractors to identify and resolve startup issues. 

· Develop and detail new PLC control systems from concept to qualification. 

· Understand process control issues and develop control solutions to enhance process with Manufacturing Engineer. 

· Identify and correct problems with current systems for process control

· Reverse engineer current systems and programs for performing failure recovery. 

· Maintain configuration control of current PLC source code. 

· Offer controls engineering support to plant operations. 

· Reply to downtime events impacting Production. 

REQUIREMENTS/Qualificatin :  

· BS Engineering (EE, IE, ME) or BS Computer Science degree or higher preferred. 

·5-7 years of experience in a related field. 

· Technical proficiency in some software applications, PLC/SCADA logic.

· Knowledgeable in sophisticated data collection, measuring, analysis, improvement and control.

· Excellent prioritization, time management, and social skills.

· Strong cause-effect analytical abilities in problem solving. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
