RACF – Mainframe Security Engineer (Remote) About the Role: In this remote position, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our mainframe environment by developing and implementing security solutions. You will leverage your expertise in RACF, REXX, zSecure, CARLa, and other tools to design, document, test, and maintain robust security measures. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing security logs, identifying vulnerabilities, and collaborating with the team to resolve security issues and achieve our security goals. Responsibilities: Develop mainframe security solutions leveraging industry-standard tools like RACF, REXX, zSecure, CARLa, etc. Design, document, test, maintain, and troubleshoot security solutions related to various areas like networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication, directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security. Analyze security logs and identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate remediation strategies. Apply your knowledge of information security best practices to implement solutions ensuring data availability, integrity, and confidentiality. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and managers to resolve security issues and achieve team objectives. Qualifications: 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work experience, training, education, and military service). 5+ years of experience in mainframe security risk assessment and remediation. 5+ years of hands-on experience with RACF (current and supported versions, z/OS 2.1 and above). Proven ability to issue RACF commands and perform diagnostic procedures. Desired Skills: 5+ years of experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and TSO (Time Sharing Options). Proficiency in REXX and CARLa scripting languages. Experience with zSecure tools. Strong understanding of advanced information security concepts and best practices. Ability to manage complex security challenges and develop effective solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
