We are currently seeking a AWS Redshift Database Administrator (Remote) to join our team inUnited States (US). The AWS Redshift Database Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our AWS Redshift databases. This role involves monitoring database performance, implementing changes, and maintaining data security and integrity. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Redshift and other AWS services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with development teams to optimize database usage and performance. This position may require on-call availability and might require working during non-business hours and on weekends in case of emergencies or planned maintenance. Responsibilities and Duties : Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s AWS Redshift databases. Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. Perform and manage backup, recovery, and migration tasks. Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize queries, data loads, and database schema design for maximum efficiency and performance. Ensure that data replication, backup, and recovery processes are in place and functional to meet the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Implement and maintain database security, create, and manage user accounts, and maintain system security under the guidelines of the company’s IT Security Policy. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, perform database tuning and performance monitoring. Prepare and maintain documentation and standards related to database administration. Stay informed of new technologies and practices relevant to database administration and recommend innovative and where applicable, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 3 years focused on AWS Redshift. Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers, including AWS Redshift. Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, EMR, and Lambda. Proficient in SQL and experience with data migration, transformation, and scripting. Knowledge of data privacy laws and understanding of managing sensitive data. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Skills: AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification. Experience with other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle). Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
