The candidate will utilize optimization, data analytics, visualization, machine learning, and statistical modeling to improve operational efficiencies, support decision-making processes, and develop innovative solutions to the sector’s challenges.
Key Responsibilities: – Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Leverage complex datasets from pipeline operations to generate actionable insights. Analyze data from sensors, meters, and operational logs to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
– Machine Learning Model Development: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to predict pipeline failures and enhance the safety and reliability of pipeline operations. Use predictive modeling to forecast demand and adjust operations accordingly.
– Operational Efficiency Optimization: Apply mathematical and modeling techniques to optimize pipeline throughput, operating cost, maintenance, and delivery schedules.
– Real-time Data Processing: Implement real-time data monitoring and analysis systems to provide immediate insights into pipeline operations. Use edge computing and IoT technologies to collect and analyze data on the fly.
– Collaboration and Strategy Development: Work closely with engineering, operations, and management teams to develop strategies incorporating data-driven decision-making into everyday operations. Ensure that data insights are accessible and actionable for all stakeholders.
– Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data science. Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance data analysis capabilities and operational efficiencies.
– Data Visualization and Reporting: Create intuitive dashboards and reports to visualize data analysis results, making them understandable for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ensure that insights are communicated effectively to support strategic decisions.
– Risk Management and Compliance: Use data analytics to identify and mitigate risks associated with pipeline operations. Ensure that data handling and analysis practices comply with industry regulations and standards.
Skills and Qualifications: – Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. — Expertise in programming languages (Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (Looker, Power BI). – Proven track record of developing and implementing machine learning models and conducting statistical analysis. – Experience with cloud platforms (especially Google Cloud and AWS) and big data technologies (Big Query and RedShift). – Ability to develop and solve optimization problems for supply chain and midstream operation improvement. – Strong knowledge of operational processes and challenges in the midstream. – Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into strategic actions.
