You are a motivated problem solver who likes to learn new things to improve systems. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Data Analyst II performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of, and extensive research on, data and providing results. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Assist in formulating and deploying methods for mitigating data entry, integrity, and collection issues.
- Prepare technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternative interpretations, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.
- Conduct multiple simultaneous tasks and prepares ad hoc analyses and reports on short time frames.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures governing the appropriate use of data, as well as creates quality assurance protocols and reviews the work of other analysts.
- May perform evaluative research projects and conducts studies
- Serve as an SME for data system enhancements and mentor/train other data analysts.
- Communicate effectively and demonstrates proficiency in data analytic software use.
- Commit to continuous professional development, including but not limited to, learning about workforce policies and programs and initiatives, attending conferences and networking events, and training on scripting languages, data visualization software, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
- 1-2 years of experience in data analytic software applications, SQL or programming languages (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge or experience using SPSS, R or other statistical programs
- Experience using Tableau, Data Visualization software, and Business Intelligence software
- Experience with TWC data systems and programs preferred but not mandatory
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of full-time experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work.
- Each year (30 semester hours) of coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field may be substituted for one year of full-time experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work.
- Current full-time employees with regular status who must have six months department program specific experience classified as a Data Analyst I. One year classified as a Data Analyst I will satisfy the minimum qualifications.

Duty involves up to 5% travel within the state of Texas and the ability to lift 3 pounds. Preferred work schedule, Monday through Friday, starting between 7 and 9 AM, and ending between 4 and 6 PM. Flex scheduling and telecommuting opportunities are available depending on work performance and/or demonstration of need, but the individual should have the ability to regularly work on-site once the pandemic allows for safe, in-person work in a common office.
