We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Network Architect to lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of our firewall solutions, including cloud firewalls, with a key focus on managing AlgoSec. This pivotal role ensures the security and efficiency of our network operations. Job Description Position Summary: The Senior Staff Network Architect will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of all firewall systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. This role encompasses designing, deploying, and managing firewall solutions from inception to decommissioning. Additionally, the architect will oversee the integration and management of AlgoSec for firewall policy automation and optimization. While operational support will be provided by an external partner, the architect must possess the expertise to navigate the deployment process and ensure seamless integration within the network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of firewall solutions, including traditional and cloud-based firewalls, ensuring compliance with security requirements and best practices. Deployment: Oversee the deployment of firewall systems from scratch, including planning, configuration, and integration with existing network infrastructure. Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of firewall systems, from initial deployment through upgrades and eventual decommissioning. Ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and features. AlgoSec Management: Utilize AlgoSec to automate and optimize firewall policy management. Ensure that firewall policies are continuously monitored, refined, and aligned with organizational security standards. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external operational partners to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of firewall solutions. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Security Policies: Develop and enforce firewall policies and rules that align with organizational security standards. Ensure that firewall configurations support overall security posture and compliance requirements. Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor firewall performance and security logs. Identify and address potential issues and vulnerabilities promptly. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall configurations, policies, procedures, and changes. Ensure documentation is accessible and up-to-date. Incident Response: Support incident response activities related to firewall breaches or anomalies. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent future incidents. Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior network engineers and other team members. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network architecture and security, with significant experience in firewall management and deployment. Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience Eligibility Requirement: -Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of firewall technologies, including traditional (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS Firewall Manager, Azure Firewall). Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices. Proficiency in AlgoSec for firewall policy automation and optimization. Experience with designing and implementing firewall policies and rules. Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or similar credentials are highly desirable.
