Research Assistant (m/f/d)/Full-Stack Developer (m/f/d) in the field of Creative Coding (E 13 TV-L, full-time)
As a full-stack developer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for developing and updating our web-based applications, systems and services that offer students virtual interaction opportunities.
Innovative technologies and services are used, in particular generative artificial intelligence as well as real-time voxel rendering in the browser, to create future-oriented and interactive experiences. You will work closely with our project team, consisting of designers (m/f/d), social scientists (m/f/d) and health scientists (m/f/d), to design novel solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into our university infrastructure. These are in the area of hybrid research and teaching as well as promoting physical activity among students.
You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Development and implementation of frontend and backend solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and common web frameworks
- Implementation and maintenance of server-side logic and database solutions with PHP and MySQL and connection to a modern CMS
- Interdisciplinary work with tools such as Figma to implement UI/UX standards
- Integration of the applications into the university infrastructure, including LDAP and Shibboleth authentication services
- Use of Git for version control and collaborative software development
- Promoting a “local first” development perspective to optimize application performance and reliability
- Adherence to best practices for software architecture and database management as well as clear documentation of developed systems
Your profile
- Completed university degree in computer science, creative coding or a technology-based degree program
- Comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web frameworks
- Experience with PHP, MySQL and building database architectures
- Experienced use of design tools such as Figma and knowledge of UI/UX design principles
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Knowledge of the integration of authentication systems such as LDAP and Shibboleth an advantage
- Independent working style, team spirit and experience in working at the interface of design, technology and science
