Job Description
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) seeks to digitize and automate current paper-based records to streamline access to information across the agency. VDH is digitizing its paper-based records for storage and management in SharePoint. VDH seeks a SharePoint Architect to support the digitization effort by creating and managing SharePoint sites for customers across the agency.
•Advise customers on SharePoint and Microsoft Power Platform features and how they apply to their unique needs
•Implement an agencywide records and document management automation system
•Collaborate with stakeholders to create consistent user-friendly design and implementation approach
•Understand and apply records management principles/rules based on individual customer requirements
•Create complex workflows and business processes using Power Automate
•Apply user UI/UX best practices to ensure 508 compliance, adherence to VDH design standards and provide a seamless user experience
•Understand and troubleshoot security issues, customer questions and other inquiries as needed
•Understand and apply VDH approved standards and processes
•Develop a SharePoint Records Center using retention labels to manage required retention policies, creating and managing file plans and building simple workflows and processes
•Develop solutions that comply with existing security protocols and guidelines
•Identify and escalate items that are architecturally significant and thereby affect development design/approach/solution
•Engage in consistent and ongoing interactions with customer subject matter experts
•Facilitate trainings and education opportunities
•Other duties as needed
•5 years previous experience as a SharePoint and/or Microsoft Power Platform Developer
•3 years UI experience
•3 years UX experience
•3 years of experience developing custom SharePoint solutions
•Ability to manage Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Center
•Experience with SharePoint site creation, UI/UX design, document library configuration, view creation, and
metadata management
•Extensive knowledge and experience with Power Platform Components (PowerApps, Power
Automate/Flow, Power BI, Power Pages, etc), Migration manager, etc.
