Job Description: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications through comprehensive testing and meticulous documentation. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the legislative process to support the integrity and performance of Legislative applications, as well as an acute understanding of the value of team relationships. Responsibilities: Technical Expertise: Development and refinement of the test program and approach. Customer Interface Support: Provide support for defect clarification and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), acting as a liaison between the development team and customers. Progress Reporting: Regularly prepare and present progress reports to keep stakeholders informed of testing status and any issues. Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute detailed test plans, including unit testing and regression testing, to ensure application functionality and reliability. Test Process Implementation: Establish and maintain an efficient and effective test process to streamline testing activities and enhance product quality. Smoke Testing: Conduct smoke testing following deployments to ensure basic functionality is intact before more extensive testing. Product Demos: Assist with product demonstrations to end users, showcasing new features and functionalities. UAT Process Management: Manage the UAT process when required, ensuring that all tests are conducted thoroughly and results are accurately reported. End User Training: Conduct training sessions for end users to ensure they are knowledgeable and comfortable with the application. Documentation: Ensure that all test product documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date, providing a clear record of testing activities and results. Requirements: Legislative Process Knowledge: Familiarity with the legislative process to understand the context and impact of our applications. Microsoft DevOps/TFS: Proficiency with Microsoft DevOps, also known as Team Foundation Server, for managing development and testing workflows. SCRUM Methodology: Understanding and experience with SCRUM methodology to effectively participate in agile development processes. Self Starter: Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and the ability to self start and progress without constant supervision. Professionalism: Exhibit a high level of professionalism in all interactions, maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor. Flexible Hours: Willingness to work flexible hours, typically 37.5 hours per week, but with the availability to work additional hours as needed during the Legislative Session, as well as the ability to work when deployments occur after business hours.
