The IT department is responsible for and designs the entire IT of the City of Munich. We ensure that IT provision meets the city’s current and future needs. We drive the digitalization of the city of Munich and play a pioneering role. Our work and services make the city of Munich a digital metropolis that sets standards that its employees are proud of.
As part of the IT department, we ensure a modern IT and telecommunications infrastructure, implement professional IT solutions and secure the IT operations of the City of Munich with over 1,200 employees in our own company it@M.
What you can expect

You can expect an exciting and varied range of tasks in a variety of projects for the creation and introduction of IT solutions in public administration. You are not afraid to take responsibility for particularly complex IT projects with a city-wide impact. You are responsible for achieving the project goals to the satisfaction of the stakeholders and within the agreed costs and deadlines. Among other things, you will manage quality, costs, resources, deadlines and risks, lead the project team and ensure that all the gears mesh well and that the project is successful. In all of these activities, you will always work together with your team colleagues and in close coordination with our customers in the departments and in-house operations of the City of Munich.
Occasionally, the job requires you to work outside of core working hours. This can occasionally lead to weekend work.

You have
- a successfully completed university degree at Master’s level in the field of computer science or business informatics or
- a successfully completed university degree at Master’s level with many years (at least three years) of professional experience in the IT sector
In particular, you will have
- Specialist knowledge: Mastery of common project management methods and tools, experience in the areas of customer management, stakeholder management and risk management, knowledge of the implementation of IT architectures in large projects (ideally across all phases of a software project), sound experience with modern software architectures
- Result and goal orientation, in particular organizational talent / skills and a sense of responsibility
- Communication skills, in particular motivational skills and negotiation skills
