The Job:
As the Akamai Technical Lead, you’ll be part of our Global Corporate Information Technology Team working as a Remote employee. This role involves not only understanding and explaining the functionality of these products but also how they can be utilized to meet the specific needs of our organization. You You will partner with different teams across the organization to understand and develop standards, processes, and policies in alignment with regulatory controls. By joining our team as the Akamai Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to work with modern technology and contribute to the success of our initiatives. You’ll get to:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Akamai’s product suite, including but not limited to, Akamai Intelligent Platform, Akamai Cloud Security Solutions, Akamai Media Delivery Solutions, and Akamai Web Performance Solutions
- Track industry trends, security threats and emerging technologies to ensure the SBD ecosystem remains innovative, effective and secure and work on improving customers digital experiences by managing cloud infrastructures, traffic, and security.
- Work closely with business users to define and analyze needs and potential issues and figure out the most suitable technical solution
- Monitor performance of websites, wed applications and other digital products
- Technical owner for identity and access management solutions, firewall, bot management, DDOS protection, CDN and Edge Delivery among others
- Demonstrate technical expertise by owning defined objectives around availability, reliability, performance, security, and scalability
- Conduct product training sessions for internal teams to ensure effective usage of Akamai products
- Stay updated with the latest product updates, industry trends, and competitor products to provide accurate and relevant information and incorporate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into SBD solutions
- Handle queries and complaints related to Akamai technologies, providing timely and effective solutions
- Understands how policies, systems and processes impacts requests, projects, cross-functional operations
The Person:

- Proficient in MS applications, JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards as well as other popular project management tools
- In-depth knowledge of Akamai products, including but not limited to Kona, Ion, Property Manager, Cloudlets, DNS, Caching, Prolexic, SandBox, SiteShield, mPulse, Certificate Provisioning and NetStorage
- Experience creating WAF rules, rate limiting, knowledge in the types of web attacks and how to prevent them
- Ability to explain an request’s journey from the browser all the way to the web Origin
- Experience in integrating websites and implementing CDN technologies (performance, security, reliability, scalability)
- Comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTML, and SSL protocols
- Experience troubleshooting issues relating to web traffic ( status codes, caching issues, routing issues, etc.)
- Experience with API tools like Postman/Rest APIs and API acceleration/Caching
- Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, JSON, XML and Java)
- Experience and familiarity with security certificate creation, renewal and installation
- Knowledge of application and system integration methods and computing environments
- 4-6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
