We want you to be yourself here.Job Description:The Arity, Head of Legal will provide real time and critical business-focused commercial legal advice for a broad range of businesses and issues including privacy counsel. The employee in this position is recognized internally as a subject matter expert, has advanced business acumen and supports matters across the enterprise relating to technology, transactions, cybersecurity, privacy, commercial, risk management, data management and intellectual property.Core competencies:Advise business partners on emerging business issues, legal subjects and risk management primarily in areas of product development, commercial contracts, regulatory, privacy, and consumer protectionExecutive presence, strategic thinking, and concise verbal and written communication a mustPlay a key role in executing strategy, action planning, and communication with business partners, business units, and other areas of Law & RegulationAnticipate legal concerns and provide creative problem solving in a dynamic business environmentComplex research as to applicability of pertinent laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and other legal authority; ability to summarize concisely and collaborate with other areas of company to determine impact of new legal authority on business and enable action plansUnderstand interaction in regulated environments between business, policy, compliance, legislative and legal frameworksComfort with executing on goals and objectives through ambiguity and in a changing business and legal landscapeExecution abilities within a parent company and its family of companiesAbility to manage outside counsel and budgetsAdtech/advertising expertise, including the legal and ethical considerations for collecting and using data in various advertising environmentsPrefer experience in the following areas:technology, commercial, advertising/adtech, data, privacy, mobility, telematics, TCPA, intellectual property, and/or highly regulated sectorsBusiness acumen with ability to quantify return on investments (create and contribute to business cases and risk evaluations)Assist in building a culture of constructive debate and conversations with a virtual team across multiple locationsA typical day might include:Advising business partners on a new product or a new corporate structureCoordinating, understanding, and synthesizing complex legal advice to advise business partners in a simple, direct mannerDrafting a complex data licensing arrangement or commercial dealsDriving implementation of a compliance planWe are fortunate to have a talented, engaged, and hard-working team and are looking for someone with those same qualities.
