This position is part of the Specialty LIMS team in the LIMS portfolio of the Digital Platform Enablement (DPE) business unit based in Bangalore.
What will you do !
The Product Owner is a member of the Agile Software Development Team responsible for turning concepts into amazing software products.This is accomplished through understanding the desired product capabilities, features and user needs while defining and prioritizing the Development Team Backlog. Here are some of the key activities for the role !
- Work with product management, engineering management, and other partners to thoroughly understand the product strategy, functional and non-functional design intent for the product.
- With Product Management, identify use cases and define user stories for different user roles and market segments.
- Collect Voice of the Customer data from customers and internal partners and bring into the design of software and solutions
- Support the Engineering team in addressing Support Escalations with expert level consultation.
- Represent the various User Personas to the Engineering Group
- Facilitate continuous elaboration of requirements through pro-active collaboration with Product Management and Engineering management
- Lead increment planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Present and demonstrate development progress and results to collaborators
- Maintain the product backlog for products and solutions, ensuring that requirements are met through engineering results
- Follow our competitors and the industry and keep abreast with both technology and process standard methodologies and trends
How will you get there ?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Life Science or Software Development related field
- 7+ years of applicable software experience
- Experience in Laboratories for Life Sciences, Genomics, Pharmaceutical industries preferred
- Experience and knowledge of Thermo Fisher Watson LIMS ™ preferred
- Hands-on, practical knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Previous experience as an Agile Software Developer, Scrum Master or Product Owner
- Understands the importance of quality and meeting regulatory compliance needs
- Experience, instincts, and passion around creating a phenomenal user experience with performant and scalable software applications
- Is authentic, open and leads by example, holding self and others accountable. Inspires, motivates and collaborates with others.
