We are looking for a strong analytic mind to join our Data Analytics team supporting Pharmacy Medicaid products. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, strong communication skills, and an agile mindset. The candidate who wins this role will be the dedicated analytic support for a Medicaid Pharmacy contract. This person will work with a dynamic team of Account Managers, Product Owners, Software Engineers, and Database Administrators in support of this contract. In addition, you will be part of a team of highly experienced and collaborative analytical talent. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the oversight of the analytic and reporting needs for an assigned client contract. In this role, you will script SQL code to extract and transform data into reporting which will be used to perform analysis, distinguish patterns and recognize trends within the data. You will partner with Engineers, Database Administrators, and Product Teams to understand data requirements and develop business intelligence tools while ensuring data quality. Successful candidates will have the ability to build a strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and technical skills. Agility in workload and time management are essential skills necessary to excel in this role. This role is responsible for representing the data as the subject matter expert and will often be presented with business questions requiring an analytic response through report/dashboard presentation. The candidate who fills this role will routinely participate in meetings, develop reporting associated with pharmacy benefit management to include PDL, DUR, and rebate services in support of the contractual needs. This person will also need the ability to present data solutions to varying levels of leadership within OptumRx Digital & Transformation. Primary Responsibilities: Script SQL code to extract, transform, and analyze data used to build reports and visualizations Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate cause and deliver actionable insights through reporting Plan and make recommendations for implementation of innovations to support data based on business data and market knowledge Partner with business owners to understand the operational workflow and needs of the contracts supported and gather requirements for analytic solutions Create specifications based on business needs for the development of data solutions to include reports, analytics, and models Serve as the subject matter expert for the data in consultations with end users and cross-functional teams to address business issues Perform analysis, interpret results, deliver actionable insights through visualizations and presentation Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions through use of business intelligence tools, report systems, and other innovative techniques Perform validation and testing of data in response to server migrations, new contract implementations, and any changes that might have impact on data integrity Perform work independently with general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Years of post-high school education, in a discipline related to a technical field, business management or equivalent practical experience in business analytics, informatics, medical economics or related functions, can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience. Required Qualifications: 3+ years prior experience working in gathering requirements, extracting data, building reports, and presenting results 2+ years of experience in an Analytics or Business Analysis type role 2+ years of experience querying data in a structured environment Ability to script code in SQL with intermediate proficiency Experience with healthcare medical or pharmacy claims Experience using Microsoft Tools (i.e., Excel [ Functions, Pivot, Lookup, etc], PowerPoint, Word, etc.) Knowledge of relational databases Working knowledge of development software and business intelligence tools, e.g., Visual Studio, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, Jira, Confluence, etc. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail.
