About the job Data Analyst (Remote)
Jobsultant is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Consumer Insights Analytics team.
A data analyst on this team must be comfortable working in a quantitative research capacity, providing actionable business insights that may require manipulation and analysis of complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from a variety of sources.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate.
a) a strong understanding of the “scientific method” and its role in business information gathering and decision support;
b) a passion for solving difficult business problems using data-driven quantitative methods; and
c) keen interest in communicating complex quantitative analyses in a clear, accurate and actionable way;
d) acumen for creating dashboards and reports that tell a story for our clients, providing business intelligence designs that allow end users maximum flexibility to specify their own parameters and requirements;
Academic background or previous work experience in a quantitative environment is essential. Previous experience with database marketing, data mining and predictive modeling, various analytical software platforms, would be beneficial to validate experience with data driven methods, but are not essential.
This is an ideal position for someone just starting their career in analytics and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You will quickly be given the chance to own the projects and work, but you will also have very senior CI/BI analysts to work with and grow your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
– Degree in a relevant quantitative field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, or social sciences). We will also consider relevant coursework/experience demonstrating an aptitude for inferential data analysis.
-Passion for answering difficult business questions with data-driven quantitative methods.
-Appreciation for developing adequate proficiency manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from a variety of data sources, including relational and unstructured data warehouses.
– Ability to communicate complex quantitative analyses in a clear, accurate, actionable and visually appealing manner.
– Keen sense for finding the right balance between quantitative methodological accuracy and timely response to business questions.
– Proficient in BI solutions (especially Tableau) and database query languages (especially SQL) .
Preferred
– Master’s/Doctorate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or Social Sciences.
– Previous work experience in database marketing, data mining and predictive modeling (Work experience or projects).
– Working knowledge of one or more analytical software platforms (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, Alteryx or open source data mining tools such as Python).
– Working knowledge of database query, reporting and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, SQL).
Responsibilities
– Work closely in a cross-functional environment that includes internal stakeholders (Consumer Insights leadership, strategy, campaign management, project management, and account management functions) as well as external clients/stakeholders.
– Answer business questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data.
– Interpret results of analysis and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
– Recommend new data collection and refinement of existing data sources that will generate additional value for the client.
– Develop “best practices” to answer frequently asked business questions and work with the team to produce or rationalize them for economies of scale.
