Job Title: Data Architect Greenplum Location: Portland, OR (Working hours PST) Responsibilities Conduct a thorough assessment of the current Greenplum database and operational data store environment. Identify pain points, performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and areas of improvement within the existing setup. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to gather and understand business requirements for the migration. Translate business needs into technical specifications and architectural design principles. Evaluate the compatibility of data and applications for seamless migration. Strategy to map and transform data from the legacy Greenplum environment to fit the data model of the target platform. Analyze and optimize the performance of queries, data loading, and data retrieval within the Greenplum environment. Create detailed documentation of the migration strategy, architecture, data mapping, transformation processes, and any necessary code modifications. Develop a comprehensive roadmap outlining the migration phases, timelines, and milestones. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, developers, data engineers, and project managers, to ensure smooth creation of the migration plan. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to team members. Experience with at least 1-2 large data migration and assessment programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a Greenplum Architect or similar role, with a strong track record of successful database migrations. Proficiency in Greenplum and Snowflake technologies, including hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and performance optimization. In-depth understanding of relational database concepts, data warehousing principles, and cloud-based data platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges. Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
