Duties and Responsibilities: Architect solutions in Azure cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data services and infrastructure. Manage and optimize MongoDB, TimescaleDB, and SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance. Configure and work with Databricks to support advanced analytics, reporting, and data processing. Collaborate with software engineering teams to design data models and structures that support business requirements. Develop and write detailed reports for business users using Databricks. Provide hands-on coding expertise and technical leadership in the development of data pipelines, ETL processes, reporting, and analytics platforms. Leverage scripting languages to automate key processes governing data movement, cleansing, and processing activities. Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Perform code reviews on SQL procedures and data-related software. Conduct technical evaluations of existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective solutions. Develop and implement data governance and security policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulations such as SOC 2. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and robust data architectures that support both operational and analytical workloads, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and other relevant regulations. Develop and optimize high-performance SQL and NoSQL databases, applying best practices in database design and management, including indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Proven expertise in Azure cloud services and tools, particularly those related to data storage, processing, and analytics (e.g., Azure Data Factory). Extensive experience with data transformation and a deep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes, with experience in designing solutions that support both real-time and batch data processing. 5+ years of data modeling experience (i.e., Relational, Dimensional, Columnar, Big Data). 5+ years of experience with complex SQL or NoSQL. 5+ years working with Databricks 3+ years of experience with reporting technologies (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI). Strong foundation in SQL and NoSQL database development, performance tuning, and optimization. Demonstrable hands-on coding skills in languages such as SQL, Python, .Net, or similar, with the ability to prototype solutions and lead by example. Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data security practices, especially SOC 2. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the capability to drive architectural decisions. Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery technologies. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both business and technical users to define and gather reporting/analytics requirements, and translate them into comprehensive data reporting strategies and analytic solutions. Experience with business requirements definition and management, structured analysis, process design, and use case documentation. Significant experience working in an Agile environment with hands-on experience with agile tools such as JIRA. Self-managed, proactive, and team-focused. Nice to Have: Knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI tools and frameworks. Certification in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer).
