The most modern and largest control center system in Germany will be the first point of contact for all emergency calls from the police and fire department in Berlin. All incoming emergency calls will be recorded, processed and forwarded to the emergency services here. The central technical operations service is the strong backbone and nervous system for the future cooperative control center. What tasks await you?

  • You will work on the most modern and largest system in Germany, which is used for all emergency calls for the Berlin police and the Berlin fire department.
  • You are part of the team that is responsible for monitoring, administering and further developing our new control center system. You will oversee the coordination with colleagues from the IT departments of the police and fire departments as well as external suppliers.
  • With your administrative skills, you will ensure a smooth workflow within the cooperative control center and ensure its operation.
  • As part of first and second level support, you are the first point of contact for employees at the Cooperative Control Center
  • With the completion of the Cooperative Control Center, you will occasionally support the Berlin Police/Berlin Fire Department outside regular working hours in the form of on-call duty and/or shift work.

What qualifications do you have?

  • You have or will obtain within the next 6 months your Bachelor’s degree or a corresponding degree from a university of applied sciences in the field of computer science, communications, communications engineering or electrical engineering or a comparable course of study

  • You have been working in relevant fields for at least 3 years and have comparable qualifications and experience. If you do not have all of these comparable qualifications and experience, please apply anyway. We will then check whether we can initially employ you in a lower pay grade after you have successfully completed the selection process, so that we can continue to promote you depending on your performance, suitability and aptitude.

What else do we want from you?

  • You are well-versed in dealing with server-client infrastructures as the basis of your know-how.
  • You have knowledge in one of the following areas:
    • Setup and administration of networks,
    • Directory services such as the Active Directory,
    • (SQL) databases and their replication and backup procedures,
    • Backup and archiving systems and backup strategies,
    • Basic knowledge in the areas of identity management and PKI,
    • Basic knowledge of IT security.
  • You have gained initial practical skills in the installation and maintenance of active and passive IT infrastructure components.
  • You are curious and have the willingness to constantly develop yourself and the team.
  • You have a class B driving license or are willing to obtain one
  • You have German language skills of at least B2 level.
