We are seeking a seasoned and dedicated Senior Data Engineer to lead our design and implementation of a unified data infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with our data architects and various teams to ensure efficient data flow and integration across our systems. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing robust and scalable data infrastructure. You will also provide technical guidance to the team, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the evolution of our data strategy.
What are the responsibilities?
- Lead the design, development and optimisation of Data Lakehouse , ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability .
- Collaborate with data architecture for establishing best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and align them with business goals.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and helping them grow their skills.
- Draw conclusions and report on the quality of the product often and regularly.
- Act as a subject matter expert in data engineering best practices and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies and trends, and advocate for their adoption as appropriate.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to empower existing teams in leveraging the new data infrastructure effectively.
What are the qualifications?
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data lakehouses.
- Proficiency in working with complex data infrastructure and cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred).
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lead knowledge transfer sessions to empower existing teams.
- Ability to simplify complex environments.
- Positive problem solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Experience in creating documentation.
