Job Description

Under limited direction, responsible for developing applications and processes that are required to extract, transform, cleanse and manage data in support of the organization’s analytics ecosystem. As a core member of a high-performance team, ensure data integration services are consistently and reliably maintained and analytics capabilities are delivered at an optimum level, helping the organization identify insights from a large number of diverse datasets.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.

Studies data sources by interviewing users; defining, analyzing, and validating data objects; identifying the relationship among data objects.

Plans data integration process by developing common definitions of sourced data; designing common keys in physical data structure; establishing data integration specifications; examining data applications.

Examines data models and determines best-fit data interchange methods.

Assesses middleware tools for data integration, transformation, and routing.

Develops project scope and specifications identifying factors that negatively impact integration; forecasts resource requirements and establishes delivery timetables.

Designs, specifies and selects integration and data solutions, considering current and future functionality, enterprise data sources and stores, security, infrastructure and performance.

Delivers data integration integrating data shared across legacy, new development, and purchased package environments using various technologies and toolsets.

Maps data, establishes interfaces, develops and modifies functions, programs, routines, and stored procedures to export, transform, and load data.

Meets performance parameters; resolving and escalates integration issues; documents operational procedures and data connections.

Works with Data Engineers and Database Administrators to design and create physical data structures.

Working with Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Developers and other developers, build integrations, tools and scripts that take advantage of the insights to support organizational strategic, clinical, ad-hoc and regulatory imperatives.
