**Description**

**Summary:** This position is responsible for designing and implementing data warehouse architecture and data models.

**What Youll Be Doing:**

– Develop data models and design ETL architecture for existing and new marts, ensuring consistency and alignment with industry best practices.

– Demonstrate expertise in ETL architecture and data modeling, and provide thought leadership, guidance, and cross-training on same.

– Work closely with ETL developers on integration solutions for the warehouse.

– Work with Data Science, Research, IT, and business units to assess and incorporate new data sources into the warehouse.

– Potentially introduce and manage unstructured, Big Data such as telematic, internet-of-things (IOT), drone, wearables, sensor, and social media, in a distributed ecosystem like Hadoop, should business use-cases require such sources.

– Establish new and help manage existing data standards for the warehouse.

– Act independently under general supervision using established software tools.

– Consider equipment capacity, limitations, and operating time when designing data solutions.

– Interpret requirements (written or oral) into logical and physical data models, and help design technical specifications for projects across a broad knowledge base.

– Have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming, including but not limited to designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, installing, etc.

– Monitor, plan, document, conduct, and evaluate assignment status with project teams and management.

– Evaluate progress and results to recommend changes in procedures.

– Interact and communicate effectively with all business contacts, including group presentations and meeting facilitation.

– Responsible for project completion and user satisfaction on highly complex projects.

**What Youll Bring To The Company:**

– Bachelors degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience required.

– 3+ years of related work experience in similar or directly-related functions, preferably in insurance or financial services.

– Logical and physical (OLTP and OLAP) data modeling experience.

– SQL expertise.

– ETL architecture and design experience.

– Experience using Erwin.

– Experience in establishing Naming Conventions and Class Words.

– Familiarity with metadata management and data lineage.

– Expert knowledge of relational database management systems, preferably in SQL Server and Snowflake. Hadoop a plus.

– Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.

– Must have an in-depth knowledge of a groups applications programming system / platform and a general knowledge of all groups applications programming systems. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. SSIS and Matillion programming a plus.

– Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities as generally acquired through three years of experience.

– Must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and preferably an understanding of the insurance business.
