Job Summary

Foodbuy is the foodservice industrys leading Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) focused on lowering purchasing and product costs for Foodbuy clients.

The Director, Member Development position is responsible for all levels of communication, program penetration, business strategy, satisfaction, and financial growth within assigned Foodbuy clients.

Responsibilities:

Develop, Build and Maintain strong relationships with key contacts in key National and Regional Hospitality and Leisure accounts to enhance business opportunities

Identify supply cost reduction opportunities for Foodbuy clients while increasing contract utilization and Foodbuy account revenue margin

Gain customer commitment to convert products within manufacturer categories and from one manufacturer to another to achieve cost savings

Utilize internal support tools to identify opportunities to increase purchasing and utilization volumes and revenue for the client and Foodbuy

Facilitates process of evaluation and implementation of products and services that deliver on expressed needs of Foodbuy clients with suppliers

Responsible for the implementation and conversion of new Foodbuy clients to the Foodbuy program

Asks strategic probing questions of Foodbuy clients to gain insight into long-term needs and priorities

Provides data and insights to assist Foodbuy clients in prioritizing needs

Creates clear and concise written materials and presentations addressing complex issues

Takes appropriate steps during and after meetings face-to-face or remotely to evaluate whether key messages were received and understood

Negotiates with Foodbuy clients to achieve buy-in and alignment with key initiatives

Maximizes the impact of resources within sourcing and category development on Foodbuy clients activities

Increase the commitment level of each assigned Foodbuy client

Increase financial performance for each Foodbuy client and Foodbuy (decreasing costs of goods, increasing Foodbuy income)

Ensure all Foodbuy client purchase volume is captured

Ensure each Foodbuy client unit is linked to all appropriate agreements (Capture)

Ensure committed member reporting and business reviews are timely and actionable

Develop new business opportunities in the segmented channels

Internal ROI for Foodbuy clients measured by Foodbuy

Monitors performance against targets/deadlines and develops corrective strategy when they are not achieved

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required

Proven experience successfully leading a sales team with direct reports

Ability to manage financial resources and costs in order to ensure the achievement of strategic organizational objectives and to increase the profitability of Foodbuy.

Minimum of 7+ years managing Large Regional and/or National accounts in the Food Service and/or GPO Industry preferred

Strong understanding of food service and hospitality procurement

Foodservice Distribution experience a plus

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications is required

Ability to travel 30%+ primarily to Charlotte and client locations

A strong understanding of the financial, commercial, technological and social aspects of Foodbuys business and value chain and how it relates to the competitive environment.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Excellent customer/client relationship skills, both internally and externally

Ability to build effective long-term interpersonal relationships proactively across functions both within Foodbuy and external parties, working with others towards mutually acceptable solutions.

Strong influencing skills-must be able to persuade peoples attitudes, behaviors and decisions to desired results

Excellent negotiation skills

-proven ability to engage others and handle interactions with individuals or groups to obtain commitment, compromise or settlement in a way that promotes win-win solutions and mutual goals or interests.
