Requisition #: 72904 The Role at a Glance This position provides leadership, direction, and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for his/her assigned area(s) within the Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) organization. S/he is responsible for managing the engineering, delivery, and operations for all distributed compute (Windows, Linux, and AIX), hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), distributed storage (block and NAS) and data protection services, organizations, and programs within the core infrastructure services team. The primary goal of the distributed compute, storage and data protection program is to provide continuous core infrastructure, business service and application availability to support all IT workload and data requirements. This includes responsibility for all aspects of the distributed compute, distributed storage and data protection planning, engineering, operations, budget, staff, contracts, internal facilities team partnership and third-party service provider management. What you’ll be doing + Plan, build, run and manage enterprise-wide distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage, and data protection services, including infrastructure service strategies, plan development, plan execution, management of all infrastructure delivery, operations functions, IT budgets and continuous availability and capacity requirements. + Provide leadership and management responsibility for all distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage, and data protection services with a major focus on operational integrity and leading the relationship with our offshore provider. This role leads all delivery and operations while achieving all project schedules, financial estimates, ensuring adequacy of end-state production performance, capacity management and system availability. + Provide leadership and management responsibility for the execution, completion, and continuous improvement of all distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage, and data protection services. The role will be expected to collaborate with the other IT, cloud, infrastructure, security, business application, business resiliency teams, and external business partners to plan, direct, and maintain effective infrastructure solutions. + Manage and advance distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage and data protection communications to internal management, internal stakeholders, audit committee(s), steering committee(s), business unit management and external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and customers. + Provide leadership and proactive oversight in assessments of the impact of application migrations to Lincoln AWS environments and potential disruptions in IT services, including production impacting incidents in partnership with the availability management team. + Directs, establishes, and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. Evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility. + Provides strategic leadership and direction to continually improve the capability and results for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility. + Drives and directs the development of strategy for innovative infrastructure and operations solutions, in collaboration with key business stakeholders to anticipate and address current and evolving business needs, opportunities and trends. + Manage and enforce all distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage and data protection policies, standards, contracts, service providers, along with associated service-level agreements (SLAs), for external service providers, as required. + Initiate and manage distributed compute, compute virtualization, distributed storage and data protection infrastructure capacity planning and coordination with key IT technology groups in support of specific business unit initiatives focusing on proactively ensuring an adequate infrastructure performance and capacity ecosystem. + Maintains knowledge on current industry and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies. + Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. What we’re looking for + 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (5 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in leading distributed compute, distributed storage and data protection organizations and technology solutions (Minimum Required). + 7+ years’ experience in leading engineering and delivery for distributed compute, distributed storage and data protection services and solutions management that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of technical leadership, managerial, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required). + Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations. + Demonstrates ability to communicate knowledgeably and credibly with senior management and internal constituents. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. #DICE What’s it like to work here? The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.
