Life Takes You Places! Are you ready to join us? The base salary range for an Associate Benefits Data Analyst is $41,705 to $54,850. The base salary range for a Benefits Data Analyst I is $42,085 to $62,000. The base salary range for a Benefits Data Analyst II is $51,300 to $75,600. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance. Benefits Data Analyst Overview USAble Life’s Enrollment Solutions Team provides an array of services to employers, employees, and brokers, streamlining and simplifying the enrollment and eligibility reporting process from setting up the group’s annual enrollment platform to the on-going exchange of eligibility information within USAble Life and externally, with other insurance carriers. Combining expertise in creating end to end Enrollment Solutions with a collaborative style with customers, this role builds confidence in our products and services, increases participation, and solidifies USAble Life’s position as their insurance carrier of choice. This is a multilevel position with increased level of responsibilities, essential duties, and required knowledge, skills, and abilities at each higher level. Associate Benefits Data Analyst – Overview The Associate Benefits Data Analyst will support employee benefits enrollments by assisting with the synthesizing, transforming, loading, extracting, and delivering of data and reports into and out of enrollment/benefits administration platforms. The position will also support the corporate Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) initiative by focusing on EDI transmittal file processing and intake systems configuration, testing, and results communications to sales, brokers, agencies, and customer groups. Essential Duties Under the close supervision and/or guidance of senior analysts and/or team leadership: Assists with ensuring incoming data matches rules and formats Helps combine data from a variety of source files, and/or helps convert it into the appropriate system recognized values Assists with loading data for testing and making appropriate adjustments based on results Helps ensure all employee records have all values that drive eligibility and plan choices and loads for production Assists with collecting any carrier and or payroll specific file requirements and works with the Data Architecture team to create output in the specified format Aides in validating the output against election transactions and then delivers final eligibility and deduction files to carriers In case of standard reports in excel or csv formats, is able to download reports, validate, against elections and deliver the files Under the close supervision and/or guidance of senior analysts and/or team leadership: Assists with reviewing the group’s Enrollment Plan, eligibility rules and administrative processes Helps collect Enrollment requirements and translating into a plan for initializing the system with the relevant employee record information Works with senior team members to develop the plan into appropriate formats and works with the Client Manager to receive data based on the formats Works with Client Managers, Groups, Brokers, Partners, and Platform Vendors to help implement ongoing inbound/outbound production Electronic Data Interchange feeds Assists senior analysts in ensuring that ongoing feeds successfully process and troubleshoots files that fail Assists with the analysis of file processing exceptions and ensures expected results are correct and achieved Works with Client Management and Implementation Excellent Specialists to ensure successful implementations Collaborates to resolve maintenance discrepancies due to EDI feeds Flexible to assist in client management functions Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comfort working with business systems and/or data Intermediate MS Office Word and Excel skills Communication skills, particularly professional telephone skills Customer service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail Ability to work with confidential information Knowledge of company products and services, systems and processes preferred Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Requires 4-6 years of professional experience 0 years of experience in Benefits Or, equivalent military experience Preferred Education and Experience Experience with benefits enrollment Associate’s degree in related field Benefits Data Analyst I – Overview The Benefits Data Analyst I work with new and existing groups who have smaller employee populations and whose benefits offering, administrative rules, enrollment needs and data structures are of a low to moderate complexity. To ensure the success of the entire process, the Benefits Data Analyst I gathers all offered benefits and administration rules, and configures a new enrollment platform for groups new to Enrollment Services. In cases of re-enrollment, she/he also duplicates and/or modifies an existing platform. She/he articulates pre-formatted, excel based data exchange layouts, reviews and validates census data against the administrative rules and tests all enrollment scenarios. She/he monitors the live enrollment and delivers eligibility and deduction files accurately and on time. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or Business Analysis May substitute certifications in relevant fields and/or equivalent work experience for education Requires a minimum of 1 year of related experience 1+ years of experience in insurance administration or employee benefits administration Or, equivalent military experience Preferred Education and Experience 2 or more years’ experience with annual enrollment projects or implementing enrollment applications Benefits Data Analyst II – Overview The Benefits Data Analyst II is proficient at working with groups whose administrative needs require moderately complex enrollment and/or EDI solutions. Working with new and existing groups, she/he gathers all offered benefits and administration rules, configures the most effective enrollment solution, monitors the live enrollment and/or data exchange process, and delivers eligibility and deduction files accurately and on time. To ensure the success of the entire process, she/he articulates data exchange layouts, protocols, and scenarios, analyzes census data, tests the enrollment platform or the EDI exchange process, reviews and resolves exceptions, and works with groups and their vendors to improve data quality associated with their specific processes.
