Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Educational Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role involves direct interaction with school district administrators to understand their data analysis needs and challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing custom data dashboards that provide actionable insights, helping schools achieve their educational goals. This role will report to the Head of Data Science.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with school district leaders and educators to gather requirements and understand their data analytics needs.
- Design and develop customized dashboards that effectively present data to meet the diverse needs of educational stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the data dashboards by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving platform and data quality issues to ensure reliable reporting and effective data modeling.
- Conduct training sessions for district staff on how to effectively use the dashboards.
- Utilize SQL for database management and queries, ensuring accurate and accessible data solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product to enhance the data platform
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience as a data analyst or similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Experience working with data visualization tools and dashboard design.
- Ability to translate complex data into digestible and actionable information.
- Experience working independently on projects.
- A can-do, problem-solver, growth mindset.
- Passion for education and improving educational outcomes.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the education sector.
- Experience working with a Student Information System such as Infinite Campus, PowerSchool, Skyward, or Aeries.
- Experience working with data analysis and scripting languages such a Python.
