Post-sale implementation of voice and data communications systems. Provide technical support on specialized telecommunications systems and public safetyproduct applications for the Federal DoD. Performs specific system configuration, programming, optimization, testing, and documentation tasks. Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure. Maintain, optimize, test, support and document complex mission critical communications systems. Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results. Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments. Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues. Total familiarity and continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques. Team with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations. Work with other System Technologists, Tech Support, Product Groups, and/or others to characterize system defects during system implementation and, on occasion, during the maintenance phase. Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshoot to resolve system/application related issues. Solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations. Preferred Candidate Experience: Very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN) Proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges. Experience with R.F. interfaces and systems such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks. Knowledge in standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques.
