Job Description

Are you a leadership development expert that has a knack for delivering engaging global programmes? Are you interested in scaling a leadership development function from the ground up? If so, then please read on!

Role background

Wolt is a Finnish technology company founded in 2014 with a mission to make our cities a better place for our customers, merchants and courier partners. In the past 10 years, we’ve grown to over 10,000 people across 27 countries, with over 1,000 team leads.

Having such a large leadership population demands a robust development programme. While we have leadership principles in place, and some basic training that covers introductory and tactical bits, we’re now looking to accelerate all aspects of leadership development across the globe – that’s where you come in!

Sitting within our small-but-mighty People Development team, you’ll work closely with your teammates, while also collaborating with senior leaders, People Business Partners, as well as our friends from DoorDash in the States. Working with a ‘one team’ approach, you’ll be hands-on in building and scaling programmes for all teams and countries on a priority basis. This includes revamping all instructor-led, ‘train the trainer’ and eLearning courses, while also looking to add cultural and team-based nuances wherever relevant.

What’s our ambition here, you might ask? Well, the goal is to achieve a truly world-class global leadership development framework that works for all teams and levels of seniority.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Bringing our leadership principles to life by creating a clear framework of expected skills and behaviors at all leadership levels.
  • Working cross-team to build and deliver ‘scalable’ training and coaching programs that equip our leaders with the required skills and capabilities, while also being hands-on in delivering training, coaching, and hosting events where appropriate.
  • Building central toolkits and ‘how to’ guides for each step of the leadership journey.
  • Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing among peers and coaching and mentoring between experienced and ‘first-time’ leaders.
  • Collaborating with our people partners and senior leaders to improve understanding of our evolving leadership development priorities across Wolt, to proactively encourage growth.
  • Evaluating and reporting on the impact of leadership development initiatives against key people metrics, such as performance, retention, and engagement.
  • Keeping abreast of current and ‘future of’ leadership trends, and converting this into practical learning experiences to keep upskilling front of mind.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in developing global leadership programs – you must have successfully navigated through various cultural nuances and leadership styles.
  • Solid background within an in-house HR/L&D environment – specifically creating and delivering a variety of training methods, such as eLearning, classroom, coaching, mentoring, training the trainer etc.
  • Ability and motivation to both work strategically and build the roadmap, as well as being ‘hands-on’ in delivering and executing what needs to get done.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with specific experience in guiding senior leaders through change.
  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively in English.
  • Obsessed about people’s experience – everything must be built through the lens of our people!
  • Fluency with using data to report on progress and inform future decisions.
  • Possessing curiosity and a growth mindset, and consistently looking to develop skills.
  • Previous experience from tech companies, scale-ups, and hypergrowth firms is a big plus.
