Position Summary: The Interface Developer I position supports the connection, data communication, and automation between Epic Ascent and internal and external systems in order to facilitate patient care. This position will provide resource redundancy for the Interface Development team, allow for future growth of Community Partners, and continue to provide a value-added service of automating existing manual steps leveraging Bozeman Health’s interface engine. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in a related field; equivalent combinations of education and/or experience considered One (1) year experience in programming / information technology Preferred: Bachelor Degree in related field Preferred: Two (2) years of Healthcare IT experience Preferred: Exposure to different data formats (e.g. HL7, XML, CSV, etc.) Preferred: Exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC) Preferred: Corepoint Level I Certificate – Required within 3 Months of hire Preferred: Epic Bridges Certification – Required within 3 Months of hire Preferred: Epic Data Mover Certificate – Required within 3 Months of hire Preferred: ITIL Certification – Required within 12 Months of hire Essential Job Functions: Develop, test, and implement HL7 interface messages leveraging Interface Engine Interact with clients to define and test new and existing interfaces Troubleshoot messages and data issues Document interface functionality and specifications Provide on-call support on rotating schedule Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality Perform essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines Work varied shifts as scheduled and/or needed The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the job classification.
