Job Summary Plan, design and implement new and existing information security based applications for the University with a focus on ensuring the availability, security, and maintainability of those systems. Monitor, analyze and develop measures to safeguard the University’s confidential data and critical technology assets to meet state, federal, and USM security guidelines and requirements. Coordinate the support for SU’s authentication and identity systems, directory services, security systems and technologies. Ensure all systems are implemented and maintained by following guidelines established by Maryland State Legislative Auditors regarding data integrity, reliability, and availability. Authority and Accountability Reports directly to Ryan Bradshaw, Identity and Data Security Manager. This position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position does not have budgetary responsibility or authority. Required/Minimum Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience. Qualified candidates must reside in the DELMARVA Region, encompassing Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the planning, design, and implementation of complex multi-tier security systems. Experience with meeting regulatory compliance standards that are monitored by an external auditing process. Proficiency with the following technologies or standards: SAML 2.0, SIEM Solutions, Vulnerability Management, Azure AD/Entra ID, Server Virtualization, Firewalling/Networking, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
