Java Developer (f/m/d)

Goseriede 9, 30159 Hanover

Full-time

Located in the heart of Hanover, HIS Hochschul-lnformations-System eG is a software company that develops IT solutions for over 200 universities in Germany. We owe our success above all to our strong team of more than 300 employees. Become part of it and shape a future-oriented industry together with us.

Our projects revolve around the continuous development of our campus management system HISinOne and our HR and financial management software (ERP software). The focus here is primarily on the digitalization of processes in everyday university life. In addition to functional development, the user experience for the users of our HISinOne software is particularly important. Dusty administrative processes are a thing of the past – our aim is to continuously improve the quality of university processes.

What tasks do I take on?

  • You concentrate fully on the project at hand and take on the further development of our campus management system HISinOne or our HR and financial management software (ERP software), with a focus on Java.
  • You will be responsible for implementing new features and functions in close technical coordination with our product management and the project team.
  • Whether making adjustments to the application and enrolment process, creating a digital student file or organizing exams and events, you will work as part of a team to further develop digitalization processes and ensure greater efficiency and usability in everyday university life.
  • The necessary test coverage via automated software testing (JUnit) rounds off your area of responsibility.
  • Tech stack: Java (JSF, Spring, Hibernate), TypeScript (Angular), PostgreSQL, GitLab, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code

What is expected of me?

  • You already have a successfully completed degree in computer science or in one of the STEM subjects. Alternatively, you have completed vocational training in application development.
  • Experience in relevant software development projects means you are very familiar with the day-to-day work of a developer.
  • A basic understanding of UML, especially class and activity diagrams, is a matter of course for you.
  • Ideally, you have already worked with Spring and/or Hibernate as part of a framework or you have mastered familiarization with these frameworks.
  • German as a corporate language is no obstacle for you to contribute your clever mind to the everyday life of a developer at HIS.

What does HIS eG offer me?

  • An open-ended employment contract with remuneration based on tasks and experience, which is based on the collective wage agreement for the public sector (TV-L) and includes social benefits such as an annual special payment and a company pension scheme (VBL)
