Position Description: The JavaScript Developer develops, enhances, and maintains front-end applications.
Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience with JavaScript
Minimum Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent experience with JavaScript ES6+
- Excellent experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
- Above average experience working with REST Application Programming Interface (API)
- Above average experience with Git
- Above average experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Nightwatch, Jest)
- Above average ability to implement UI/UX requirements using Responsive Frameworks and Design Systems
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting a healthcare environment (preferred)
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred)
Security : Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years

- Participates as a member of the development support team
- Designs solutions

- Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks or projects
- Analyzes technical issues
- Collaborates with other internal and external groups
- Provides and reviews needed documentation changes
- Follows VIP OI&T Delivery framework and overarching VA guidance (One-VA Technical Reference Model (TRM)
- Uses GitHub, JIRA, and ServiceNow
