Junior Database Administrator β Work From Home
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Junior Database Administrator to join a growing IT team. This position is 100% Remote.
Junior Database Administrator Responsibilities:
β Provide 24/7 support for firm critical databases.
β Perform troubleshooting, resolution and root cause analysis for database and application specific incidents.
β Perform schema design, capacity planning and change control management tasks.
β Execute database baselining, benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning.
β Maintain and enhance database maintenance routines.
β Work with company technical leads and development teams to create and execute project plans in line with customer expectations and company strategic goals.
β Execute database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades and implementation of database security policies.
β Profiling and performance tuning new and existing stored procedures.
β Integrate SQL systems with third-party tools and environments.
β Document policies, processes and procedures.
β Support other key initiatives as the business dictates.
Junior Database Administrator Qualifications:
β Bachelorβs Degree from a 4-year university in computer science or related technical field.
β 0-3 years of experience.
β Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
β Highly organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, able to work independently as well as a team player.
β Solid project management skills; able to take a project from inception to completion.
β Basic understanding of RDBMS concepts and experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing Tables, β Views, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions using SQL Server, T-SQL.
β Knowledge of database security methods and procedures.
β Understanding of ETL best practices across the enterprise.
β Basic experience in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.
β VmWare experience a plus.
β SAN experience a plus.
β Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
