Remote team members will be encouraged to work out of their home office.Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.The Platform, Data, and Intelligence (PDI) organization at New Relic builds the platforms, products, and foundational services for secure, automated, reliable, and dynamic ingestion and processing of telemetry data.We are looking for a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer to help integrate New Relic observability platform with GCP marketplace, at the scale of ingesting over 2 billion events per minute. You will work on a team that will pave the way for the right tooling and standards across multi-cloud environments and empower our engineering teams to deliver exciting digital experiences for our customers with agility and confidenceYou are an engineer with a passion for working hands-on with cloud technologies, in a large scale environment so you can see how that technology is used when scale matters. What you’ll do

Work with a team of accomplished engineers to design, implement and manage secure, scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure. Drive the design/architecture of our Infrastructure and developer platform to support GCP (including the tooling)Establish standards and reference architectures, guiding teams to have their services running in GCPDeliver high quality production code – Robust error handling, code must make efficient use of system resources, and trade-offs between efficiency and maintainability are well understood. Simplify code and resolve team architecture deficiencies.Provide technical expertise and drive the team’s or group’s roadmap. Research and create short lived proofs of concept to evaluate and reduce the risk of new technologies.Lead complex features that require collaboration with multiple teams, usually across different groupsAmplify the contributions of team mates; advocate for good ideas while recognizing their source.Coordinate activities of other personnel.

This role requires

5+ years hands-on experience in implementing and/or maintaining highly complex GCP cloud environments. Minimum of 7+ years of software experience in cloud environments.Strong understanding of cloud computing and hands-on experience of migrating/operating workloads in GCPExperience with GCP Storage and essential GCP Networking technologies, GCP Storage Queues, KafkaExperience with Kubernetes and AKS cluster deployment and supportExperience automating with market tools (Terraform) and integrating systems using a high-level language (Go, Python).Experience working with distributed systems at high scaleExperience working on technically and organizationally sophisticated projects with the ability to identify risks and weigh tradeoffsHigh level of emotional intelligence with collaboration, communication and listening skills that encourage different perspectives and creative solutions

The base pay range above represents a good faith estimate of the low and high end base pay range for the listed position.
