We are actively seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator with specialized expertise managing Oracle Software installations to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the administration, optimization, and maintenance of the systems which support PeopleSoft ERP and related business software. Workplace Type: Remote (USA) Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 Travel up to 10% You Will: Administer and maintain Linux environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. Manage PeopleSoft and other Oracle software installations, configurations, patches, and upgrades. Conduct performance monitoring and tuning activities for Linux Operating Systems, Oracle applications, and associated systems. Implement best practices for optimizing Linux environments to support Oracle platforms. Implement and enforce security measures for Linux, including access controls, user authentication, and data encryption. Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular assessments and address vulnerabilities. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for Oracle software, databases, and configurations. Conduct periodic testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity. Investigate and resolve technical issues related to Linux systems promptly. Provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with technical teams to address post-implementation challenges. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Linux configurations, system architectures, and troubleshooting procedures. Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure team members are well-versed in Linux system administration. You Have: Must be a United States Citizen. Must possess and maintain a Public Trust or Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance. Security+ Certificate Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator, ideally including experience with Oracle software. Ideal candidates will have experience specifically with RedHat or downstream distributions. Strong understanding of Linux configurations and system administration tools. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Linux Engineer/Administrator with Oracle experience. Previous experience in managing security, access controls, and backups for Oracle RDMBS and PeopleSoft systems is advantageous. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
