VICTR Job Summary: Manager IT – Platform Engineering Job Summary The Office of Research Informatics (ORI) is the technical side of the Vanderbilt Institute of Clinical and Translational Research. Our teams provide custom software and data warehouse services for the clinical research enterprise. While we rely on VUMC IT to provide much of our platform infrastructure, we maintain a team of platform engineers dedicated to meeting the specific needs of ORI. We are looking for a hands-on leader for our Platform Engineering team. Your goal would be to provide reliable platform solutions for our developers and data teams, to lead our department in implementing modern technologies such as Kubernetes and Azure cloud services, and to help expand our offerings for secure computing platforms. The role requires extensive technical knowledge, as well as the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both technical and non-technical leaders. For more information, please visit Key Responsibilities Establish and promote best practices for ORI Platform Services Collaborate with other leaders to recommend and implement solutions that meet the requirements of VUMC and the needs of ORI Manage a team of systems administrators, cloud architects, DBAs and security specialists Lead developers and data engineers in the adoption of Kubernetes and the Azure cloud Guide the creation of new secure computing environments, such as a FISMA moderate environment.
