Compensation : $130,000-$155,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 10% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Manager, Systems Engineering and IT Operations- Remote, USA (Pacific/Central preferred)
The Manager of Systems Engineering and Operations is responsible for leading and managing a team of systems engineers and administrators who design, implement, and maintain the organization’s mission critical IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. This role provides technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of IT services and solutions that support the organization’s business objectives.
Essential Functions
- Manage and lead a team of systems engineers and administrators, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Develop and implement strategies, processes, and procedures to optimize IT operations and service delivery.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of monitoring, observability, and automation solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in IT systems, applications, and processes.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for technology initiatives.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, risks, and challenges impacting IT service delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex issues and initiatives.
- Develop and manage vendor and partner relationships related to IT systems and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a related role, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership position
- Extensive expertise in operating systems, virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and complex applications (AWS, VMware, Linux, Microsoft Windows)
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Proven technical leadership, management, and mentorship abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with project management methodologies and resource allocation.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, VMware, AWS)
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and cloud automation/orchestration tools
- Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with identity and access management solutions (e.g., OKTA, AWS IAM, Active Directory)
- Experience leading and managing cross functional teams and largescale IT projects.
