For which tasks (responsibilities)?

  • Design and develop levels and environments that are engaging, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with the overall game design and story.

  • Collaborate with game designers, narrative designers, and art teams to ensure the seamless integration of gameplay mechanics and story elements within the game environments.

  • Utilize level design tools and software to create and iterate on level layouts, applying both artistic and technical skills.

  • Conduct playtests and gather feedback, using it to refine level designs and improve player experience.

  • Create detailed documentation for each level, including diagrams, flowcharts, and written specifications.

  • Ensure levels are optimized for performance without compromising artistic vision or gameplay.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a Level Designer, with a portfolio showcasing previous work on notable projects.

  • Strong understanding the theory and philosophy of level design.

  • Strong proficiency in level design tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine or similar.

  • Ability to develop design maps, build block-outs, process feedback from stakeholders and quickly make changes.

  • Excellent understanding of game design principles and how they translate into engaging player experiences.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team, communicating clearly and openly with other team members.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs based on player feedback and technical constraints.

  • A keen eye for detail, aesthetics, and environmental storytelling.

  • At least intermediate proficiency in English.

  • A passion for fantasy games and familiarity with the DnD or WH universe, which can be leveraged to create levels that resonate with fans and enhance the narrative depth.

  • Experience with scripting or programming, which can be beneficial in implementing complex gameplay features within levels.
