POSITION SUMMARY: The OT Security Engineer is a member of the Polaris Cybersecurity Team. The Cybersecurity Team works cross-functionally to secure enterprise assets and data against current and emerging threats. The OT Security Engineer will be responsible for the secure operation, management, and compliance of all Operational Technology systems within the organization. This includes but is not limited to PLCs, RTUs, ICS, DCS, HMIs, SCADA, servers, workstations, networks, databases, and software applications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implement, and manage a holistic OT security program that addresses vulnerabilities and risks across both IT and OT environments. Collaborate with networking and shop floor IT teams (Controls Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, etc.) to deploy and maintain OT discovery solutions across the enterprise. Perform investigations to identify and classify discovered OT devices. Collaborate with cybersecurity team members to research and develop options for remediation of identified risks. Execute cybersecurity risk and vulnerability assessments using industry-leading methodologies. Implement OT-focused cybersecurity hardware and software solutions. Develop and implement security policies and procedures for OT systems. Monitor OT environments for security incidents and investigate violations when they occur. Respond to security incidents in the OT environment. Collaborate with IS Security and Architecture teams to ensure all integrations meet security standards. Document architecture and integrations used between the OT platforms and other systems and vendors. Various other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. At least 3 years professional IT experience with at least 1+ years focused on OT Security &/or Information Security. Proven experience in OT security or within Shopfloor IT (Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer, Automation Engineer, DCS Engineer, HMI Engineer, SCADA Engineer, etc.) Familiarity with industrial control systems and operational technologies. Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk management and mitigation strategies. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills. Industry certifications similar to GICSP preferred but not required. Strong understanding of network devices and architecture, TCP/IP, network protocols, firewall administration, web application firewalls, and endpoint security. Strong Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (such as CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.) Ability to investigate, understand, and document network security architecture. Strong ability to research and understand technical challenges and provide security guidance. Demonstrated ability to think critically, be detail oriented, and results driven.
