As a Python + GCP Engineer , you will be working for our client, a global financial institution. The client’s strategic platform, known as STAR, generates and delivers risk factor definitions, historical market data, and scenarios for Value at Risk and Expected Shortfall calculations. Deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), STAR utilizes a microservices architecture that combines real-time and batch processes, handling large volumes of data. The STAR development team, part of the Global Traded Risk Technology department, seeks a talented GCP engineer to contribute to the ongoing build-out of this critical platform.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, applications, and GCP solutions at an enterprise level
- Contributing to architecture designs and decisions
- Reviewing other team members’ solutions
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience in infrastructure-as-code development and deployment using Terraform
- Proficiency in workload automation and orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes
- Strong scripting and coding knowledge in Python, Bash
- A solid understanding of GCP services and capabilities, including cloud networking, security, governance, containerization, orchestration with Kubernetes, serverless platforms, and cloud operations and administration
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security concepts and practices
- The ability to author and maintain infrastructure standards and solution design documentation
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Familiarity with Java 17
- Experience with GCP technologies such as Cloud SQL, DataFlow, and BigTable
- Knowledge of Grafana
- Exposure to messaging/streaming platforms like Kafka
