Job Description: Development Delivery Architects create the overall data integration architecture and design of multi-terabyte marketing solutions that integrate and optimize our client’s data across numerous sources. Merkle’s solutions enable our clients to better communicate to their customer and prospects across a number of marketing channels and media. Delivery Architects will be immersed in the development and maintenance of marketing database solutions to meet client business objectives. You will have an opportunity to work with a cross-disciplinary team across various divisions of the MS group.
- Lead CRM platform development programs and roadmap Data Warehouse architecture and ETL design
- Build and maintain SQL procedures and ETL processes
- Manage resource allocation and release planning
- Lead and mentor an implementation team in a matrix organization
- Manage hardware infrastructure SLAs, capacity planning, performance and procurement
- Design and implement technical vision for client project
- Own overall project architecture and technical delivery of multiple solutions – Interact with client on regular basis
- Assist in requirements gathering and data analysis as needed
- Estimate work effort and assist the Project Manager with task planning and LOE (level of effort) estimates
- Provide technical leadership and oversight of a project development team – Review work product of others for compliance with development standards – Provide guidance and mentoring in database marketing development best practices
- Conduct design reviews
- Audit existing platform implementations and recommend enhancements
The successful Delivery Architect – Director will:
- Manage multiple large scale implementation projects
- Deliver large scale solutions on time and on budget
- Interact regularly with clients
- Effectively hand off work to developer level resources in the US and off shore – Manage and grow other technical leads, developers and managers in a matrix organization
- Thoroughly understand core Merkle marketing technology platforms
- Grow client relationships through high quality work
- Continuously raise the bar for the entire Development group
Relationships: The position interacts regularly with a wide range of internal Merkle teams (including Quality Assurance, Campaign Management, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Developers, Project Managers) to support the development and/or ongoing maintenance of the solution.

Qualifications:
- 6-8+ years experience with ETL tool(s) – Talend, Informatica, SSIS, DataStage
- 6-8+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or other major RDBMS
- 10+ years experience leading CRM solution implementations
- 5+ years leading multi-functional development teams
- Experience with Customer Data Integration or Master Data Management preferred
- Experience in database marketing preferred
- Experience with cloud technologies AWS, GCP, Azure and/or Hadoop is a preferred
- Significant experience designing and implementing large databases and data warehouses utilizing both relational and dimensional design concepts
- Technical consulting experience a plus
- Well-versed in the CRM technology and tools landscape
- Strong willed, creative thinker with history of strong problem solving
- Articulate, effective communication skills with both technical and business audiences

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science or related IT field, or relevant professional experience
